This past weekend I went sketching with Wells and his girlfriend Tammy at this cafe nearby in Toluca Lake named "Aroma". This sketch is the view I had from my seat (although I've changed a few details). Their coffee was pretty decent but their food was definitely worth the time spent in line. If you're in the area, it's a nice place to sit down and people-watch for a while.
I think it goes without saying that this is one of my favorites, not only because I was present at the time of this drawing, but also because of the amount of "you" that is in this drawing. The atmosphere is captured perfectly and yet there is a "background design" feel that makes me want to place it in a film. I'm glad you posted this.
